Over the course of 5 years of the competition, startup founders and craftsmen, as well as those whose business ideas impressed the strict jury, became finalists. The most successful ones received grants of up to $100,000 each. The total amount of grants reached over $2.2 million.

Kenesh Rakishev actively supports all projects of the charitable foundation "Sabi," including the construction of emergency children's surgery departments in Kazakhstan's regions, the construction of children's homes, playgrounds, robotics centers, and the support of projects for the development of the Kazakh language and culture.

In 2016, with the financial support of Kenesh Rakishev, the Judo Academy was built, which includes a hall with four tatami mats, a gym, a dormitory, and a dining room for one hundred people.

During the pandemic, the charitable foundation "Sabi," co-founded by Kenesh Rakishev, spent a total of 1,131,956,033 tenge on providing assistance.

In 2020, Kenesh Rakishev donated $1 million to the "Birgemiz" Public Foundation.

In 2002, Asel Tasmagambetova, together with her husband Kenes Rakishev, established the charitable foundation "Sabi." The foundation is involved in implementing social programs for various segments of the population in Kazakhstan.

Asel Tasmagambetova is the author of ten major systematic programs in the fields of charity, medicine, education, youth sports, support for young entrepreneurs, and assistance to people with disabilities.

She supports Kazakh culture and art, contributing to their promotion abroad. Asel Imangalievna has significant experience in organizing fundraising projects, including international ones.

Educational Projects

Throughout the 20 years of the "Sabi" foundation's work under the leadership of Asel Tasmagambetova, special attention has been given to educational projects.

In 2017, together with her husband Kenes Rakishev, they built and donated School-Gymnasium No. 174 to the Nauryzbay District of Almaty.

In 2020, the couple opened the private school named after Shokan Valikhanov, which in 2021 became the first school in the CIS to meet the international LEED environmental standard. The school accommodates 800 students from grades 1 to 11, and instruction is provided in both Kazakh and Russian languages. The institution combines innovative infrastructure and educational content that meets the best global standards.

Support for Young Entrepreneurs

In 2013, the "Sabi" charitable foundation launched the "Build Your Business" competition. It is the only competition in Kazakhstan that provides grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 to young entrepreneurs across the country, helping them start and develop their businesses.

Under the leadership of Asel Tasmagambetova, with the support of well-known Kazakh businessmen and philanthropists Kenes Rakishev and Vyacheslav Kim, the competition has provided 70 grants to young entrepreneurs over 8 years, totaling approximately $2 million. Thanks to the support of the "Build Your Business" competition, 80% of young entrepreneurs were able to take their businesses to a new level of development and build successful ventures.

Environmental Projects

From 2010 to 2014, Asel Tasmagambetova delivered lectures on environmental law at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In 2012, she co-founded the Central Asian Institute of Environmental Studies (CAIES), which conducts research in the field of environmental protection, develops new methods for industrial waste disposal, and studies the impact of industrial facilities on the environment. CAIES also provides a wide range of consulting services in Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG).

Asel Tasmagambetova is the organizer of a series of international expeditions to study the population of the Caspian seal. These data led to the inclusion of the Caspian seal, an endemic species of the Caspian Sea, in the Red Book of Kazakhstan in 2020.

In 2019, the CAIES established the Center for the Study and Rehabilitation of the Caspian Seal, the only institution in the Northern Caspian Sea region that deals with the treatment, veterinary support, and nurturing of Caspian seals.

Awards

Asel Tasmagambetova has 6 scientific publications and 1 utility model patent. In 2016, she was awarded the "Kurmet" Order for her contribution to the development of the children's healthcare system and the construction of emergency surgical care units for children.

Biography

Asel Imangalievna Tasmagambetova was born on October 27, 1979, in the village of Makhamet, Guriev Region, Kazakhstan.

In 1999, she graduated from the Kazakh State Law University with a degree in Jurisprudence.

In 2009, she graduated from the International Independent Ecological-Political University with a degree in Ecology and Environmental Management.
